Meet Susan!

Quietly and on a whim, I walked into my first aerial silks class in 2012. Coming from no fitness or gymnastics background, I struggled terribly. I didn’t take to it easily or naturally, yet I continued to return each week. Shortly afterwards, I was introduced to yoga. In 2015, the two paths met, and I was certified in aerial yoga and have been practicing and teaching consistently ever since. I received my 200-hour yoga teacher certification in May of 2017 and my 300-hour certification in June of 2018.

Being a teacher is enjoyable and rewarding, but my first love is being a student. I continue to train consistently with instructors and mentors all over the country. I believe that to be a quality instructor, you should always be open to learning.

Fun fact…prior to discovering a passion for aerial fabric, I was an avid hula hooper. This included spinning fire. It was at a hoop festival that I first saw someone dance in aerial silks and I was completely awestruck.

A favorite quote by Agnes Repplier ~ “It is not easy to find happiness in ourselves, and it is not possible to find it elsewhere.”
